Dear Colleagues,
Lately I had to render a file whose total time was about an hour. It took twelve hours to render and there was not much in the way of special transitions. Just a cut here and there, volume changes and some titles in the beginning.
I am using the latest version of Adobe Premier Professional (I believe they now call it 2.0) and I am a bit of a novice when it comes to output settings.
My goal is to simply create output .wmv files that have about the same quality as the AVI that was created. I am looking to reduce the render times, however, since this is taking way too long.
The machine's hardware is an AMD Athlon 64X2 4800 with 4 gigs of ram and there are two Western Digital 7200RPM 320gig hard drives in the machine so I think its not a question of hardware.
Do any of you know where I can look to in terms of researching this matter. I know that I am likely doing something wrong here and have yet to fiddle with the right settings.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Walt
