Hello, I use K-Lite Codec Pack, and I installed the "default" version, but now when I play back a movie, it generally uses for audio decoding the Mpeg Layer 3 Decoder, but it has no changeable settings, so I would like to use sthing else. How can I do that? I don`t really like the FFDshow Audio Decoder, so I would like to use the AC3 filter.
Thanks for your help.

Go to AC3Filter settings. On the systems tab enable MPEG audio.
What don't you like about ffdshow audio decoder?

I tried that, but nothing happens. It is still used the Mpeg Layer 3 Decoder.
About FFDShow Audio... I think that`s ok, but that MP3 Decoder overrides everything!:(
And one small question: Is K-Lite Codec pack OK, or should I use sg else (Ace Mega..)?

If you use K-lite Codec Tweak tool (check in start menu), you can reset to recommended settings and fix broken codecs.
Also, if using MPC as player, you can easily tweak the internal/filters that you use.
Under View...OPTIONS...internal filters.

In ffdshow options you can specify which audio formats it should decode. You can easily configure it to only decode MP3 audio.
Don't use the ACE pack. It will mess up your computer.
Use K-Lite Codec Pack Standard or Full.

I will look at the settings, and I think I will be able to resolve it.
But I don`t understand something: What decides (or where it is written) which codec is used by system default for a certain type? Could I find a program that can change these settings? Ex.: if I set in AC3Filter to decode Mpeg audio, and I enable it in FFDShow too, which will be used?

DirectShow filters have a merit. When multiple filters are installed that are able to decode the same format, then the filter with the highest merit will be used.
With for example GSpot you can change the merit of a filter.
Disable mp3 in ffdshow if you want to use AC3Filter. Increase the merit of AC3Filter so that it gets used instead of the Fraunhofer MP3 decoder.
