MPEG Files No Longer Play Properly

I few weeks ago, I noticed that many... most, but not all my MPEG files would no longer play properly in Windows Media Player, Windows Media Centre or Real Player. They would play only the first few seconds of the video and then the video would end, but the SOUND would continue!

I tried playing these same videos in my WinDVD Software, and they play fine.

I tried pulling them into Windows Movie Maker, to see if I could somehow fix them there, and all I see are the few seconds that I see in the Media Player itself.

Now, I am lost and don't know what could possibly be the problem here -- Especially since they used to work, but now they don't except in WinDVD where they work fine!

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
