Which One Do I Download? (there are so many!)

Hello - I just got hooked up to satellite internet; the only other option for service in 'my neck of the woods' (rural), the only other option is going back to my 26.4k dial-up connection!!! (at the end of a very long phone line in the hills).

Anyway... My system is running alot faster on satellite to say the least, but one of the things I am wanting to do with a faster connection is listen to on-line radio streams and occasionally watch short video clips; I do not download videos or music files (do not MP3 etc...).

I have a Dell 4600 that runs on Win XP home (02') with SP2, I also have current versions of WMP and Real Player but... Radio streams and video news clips still cut out and loose connection after about a minute sometimes 20min (mostly Real Play); on slow dial-up they would cut out every 5-10 seconds. Now on satellite the stream will re-connect SOMETIMES, most times I have to re-initiate the connection.

I am told that OGG may help resolve this issue but... I am new to OGG technology and there are so many versions to choose from; what do I need to download to listen to on-line radio streams? I may also load OGG to help with viewing short on-line video clips, any suggestions?

Thanx ~ M.

I would recommend you to try Ogg DirectShow Filters 0.9.9.5.

How does DirectShow Filters 0.9-9.5 compare to version 0.71.0946 (2/24/06)?

Thanx ~ M.
