DX9 crashes codecs?

hi

when installing a new and clean windows sytem and installing DX8 and my loved k-lite-mega codec-pack at least the movies are quite clear but cant resize to fullscreen. when installing DX9 and the mentioned codecs it resizes to fullscreen but in any case, fullscreened or not, the quality is totally crap. there are toooo much colors and its toooo dark, you just cant watch any movie. i tried a lot of things, but the only thing i got, is that DX9 is the guilty one. i am having no DX9 graphicscard, could this be the problem? in the past it worked just well, also with DX9 but with another version of codecpack and old graphicdrivers. what can i do?

Changing the output renderer in Media Player Classic might help.

Options > Playback > Output > DirectShow Video

Try getting up-to-date video card & drivers... if your current video card doesn't support DX9 then revert to older DX8.1 version (default on orig. WINXP). Installing two diff. versions only causes problems. wink.gif
