hi

i have recently upgraded my computer and re-installed windows and have installed the latest all in one codec pack from free-codecs.com but all my vids, which worked perfectly well before i upgraded the motherboard and processor on this pc are now all very dark and in black and white no matter which program i view them through.

what could be the problem?!

annoyingly i have had moments with some videos working again in colour but now none of them do again. its very annoying.

can anyone help me?!....please smile.gif

To increase brightness (WMP) you can try this: View>> Enchancements >> Video Settings. You can increase all of the settings here, including brightness.

Did you try reinstalling the codec after the upgrade? (make sure you remove the old one 100% check your register to make sure).

I can't help you with the black and white problem. The only thing i can come up with is reinstalling the drivers or checking 'Saturation' settings in your media player.

Hope this helps

hi and thanks mate,

i have tried all the windows enhancements and plugins before without any joy. i just cant understand what could be making it dark as hell and greyscale, its so annoying. i have tried re-installing graphics drivers and codecs and tht doesnt work. my graphics card works fine, i know that for sure as i play 3d gaming and have used it for a year before this upgrade. someone...anyone!...HELP!

ok.....

something more has just happend....

iv installed k-lite codec pack instead but the videos are still the same... but.....
strangely as i was resizing a video in wmp classic the colour of the video flashed on for about 1-2 seconds before changing back to black and white. And if i continually resize the picture on a video now and again the proper colours flick on and then shortly afterwards flick back to b&w.

WHAT IN THE NAME OF RONALD MC DONALD COULD THAT POSSIBLY MEAN!!!!!!?

EDIT: to go with the above.....when i brought up the video which is playing in the background just then after minimizing this internet explorer window the colour played on the video for 1-2 secs before going back to b&w. sad.gif
