Can MPC be my only media player?
I installed K-Lite Standard v2.78, but it won't play these:

http://soulfm.stationplaylist.com/listen.m3u

Also, I tried to get the documentation from

http://www.free-codecs.com/guides/mpc_help_eng_20050402.zip

but it gives errors when unzipping (with WinRar). I've downloaded it
twice now, so I don't think it is a download error.

Thanks,
MPC

You should try to unzip it with WinZip; the archive isn't corrupted wink.gif

OK, thanks, it worked with WinZip...but not with WinRar, or with WinXP's built in zip file handler.

The help file isn't much help with my question though...is there something I'm not doing right? I can paste those links I mentioned into VLC and it plays them no probs, but MPC gives me the 'Failed to render' message.

I just would like to have one media player ... not 3 because atm I have WMP9, VLC, and MPC. I was hoping that either VLC or MPC would be able handle everything. Because I live in a remote area I use streaming media (TV and radio) a lot.

The first link work fine for me in MPC.

Use Winamp for the second one.

Both work fine. Depends which format/filetype you have it associated with. I can use WMP or MPC for first link.
My default for MP3 playlist file(M3U) is jet audio and it works as well.

Try tweaking MPC..view...options..formats. Make sure playlist file is selected. Select any other formats if want to change the default association.

For me I had to open URL in I.E tab in Mozilla Firefox. It open up MPC by default and played the ASF file.
Hope that helps. wink.gif
