Hi, As everyone knows that every now and then when somone goes to website many website install software like virues. Does anyone can help by telling if there is any software which stops active x programs to get installed on computer. I tried to disabled activex control from tools->security and to custom level but still there are some wesites if you go on them then they atleast would be able to download some files on your computer and after that its all adware....

Hello Punisher , i got like your problems , i used many progams to stop like this ...
but i used finally spydoctor (downloud here) , this software will protact your computer and never allow to spies and adware ets ... to inter to your ps,
im trying to help, i used this way , it worked ,

Did you try to activate Windows XP firewall? If not, try this:
1. Start > Control Panel > Network Connections, right-click on Broadband connection (of course, connection type and name may vary) and select Properties from menu;
or right-click on Local Area Connection icon from taskbar's tray area, select Status and click Properties button
2. On the connection properties select the Advanced tab and then check the checkbox
However, to avoid prompts asking for install Gator or other craps, you have to Disable all ActiveX controls and plugins from Security Settings menu. I use to select Prompt only for signed ActiveX controls

Easy way is to avoid using I.E. that uses ActiveX. I switched to Firefox 8 months ago and never get nasties, popup windows, spyware etc. Works well with NOD32 antivirus and ZA PRO (with web filtering) as well.
Yes, you can use Windows Firewall, but it's quite basic and is very limited. Just remember if disable ActiveX (javascript), you will lose some functionality with many websites so it's not a "perfect" solution.

heh.. This ActiveX is real headache for inet users My new Deepnet Explorer sometimes hangs up and after I restart this prog it showe goddam ActivX problem and cannot open any page before I don't restra my router

I am agree with that even deepnet $uck$ for this problem. I used it and it says it does give you protection but for some websites its just waste..
