convert other video formats to MOD format

I have a jvc camcorder that creates MOD video files on harddisk. Other video files can be written onto the camcorder, but other files on jvc camcorder are not visible and cannot be played. Are there anyway to convert other video formats to MOD format and use the jvc camcorder to play them?
