Hi, I'm not sure if this is a good place to post this question but here I go.

I have an avi file (or so it says in name etc), but I cant play it with any of my media-players.
Also VLC Media Player just doesnt do anything (most problems give errors).

I tried to fix the file with several fix-programs, non of them can, and for example divfix says it isn't an avi file.

So on another forum I found someone who said to donwload program MediaInfo
if it's a media file : it'll say some information ... and it did, but a lot less then other videofiles

... container and general information
350 mib
1 videostream MPEG-4 video

first video stream
624*352 (16/9), MPEG-4 video (BVOP)

I also tried the fix-program AVImedic

Selected Filename:
D:\Films, series etc\Desperate Housewives\
Desperate Housewives - 1x15 - Impossible.avi

Size:
350.0Mb (358,306Kb)

FourCC:
0000-0000

After analise it:

He says that 97% is good
but 3% is fake material

he gives a patch code:
Patch Codes for required Patch Data
(See Help page 6 for information on requesting a Patch file).

Total Patches Codes: 1 Total Size: 0.9Mb (896Kb)

1 x 896Kb code(s):
0000D

I left that message on the forum of AVImedic,
but so far nobody has responded

Is there someone here who can help me fix this file (if it is fixable)?

thank you!

Likely didn't download the entire file through your bit torrent client. Once complete,
it should do rehash or checksum on file. You do realize you are downloading the first season,
episode 15 which is dated, right? So possible that it not active or it doesn't have enough seeders/leechers. wink.gif

maybe. It came in to 100% though.
and had no problems with any other file.

But you might be right, for the first season not much seeders/leechers.

Trying with another file now (same episode) hopefully this one works
but doesn't come in quickly

but if someone still might know a solution, always welcome
(you never know it might occur once again).

But thank you for the answer smile.gif
