SECURITY ISSUES Some one has to keep track of security issues

I dont even know who is behind QuickTime alternative and the K-lite codec packs. But www.free-codecs.com seems to be the best place to find them, so I will try this forum.

I simply can not find any page that keeps track of security issues.

If there ist any security issues, I want a page that clearly tells this.

But I am afraid that many of the codecs from time to time are vulnerable.

The last weeks the "original" quicktime software has been flagged as very dangerous. And I have not enough knowledge to draw conclusions of quicktime alternative also is vulnerable or not.

As a user one have to be able to check some webbpage that contains which security issues that exists in which versions, and when they are fixed.

I think that this is SO IMPORTANT that a product whithout this maturity is competly unusable. We will all be pwne.

Is there a such page, that I have not found? Perhaps a security mailinglist? Or does someone have to take care of this?

The quicktime exploit bug was fixed. Article and link found here:

Might be possible with Quicktime alternative, but keep in mind it is not a player...just uses modified Apple codecs. However, it is quite good at releasing regular updates so have to be patient.
Also, most software have release notes after each build so good place to look for
info about security bug fixes. thumbsup.gif
