Quicktime alternative, media player classic and the klite codec pack work fine but I would like .mov and .qt links in webpages to open the media player classic stand-alone, NOT the browser through the plugin. That is, those filetypes are playing in the browser at their normal teeny weeny sizes. With media player classic I can resize etc. at will and I want to do that.
I tried to dissociate quicktime movie types in quicktime setup>Browser>Mime Settings>Video but it will not allow me to deslect the video box - maybe the is not what I need to do anyway?
Is there a way to have such files on web pages NOT play inside the browser?
thanks

Not sure about I.E since don't use MS browser.. I know with Opera, you just go under prefs..advanced..downloads&programs. Just matter of changing the helper application for the the protocol or filetype.
I.E.. likely need to go under Windows Explorer..Tools..Folder Options..filetypes. Find the filetype(s) and associate it with Media Player Classic. ...Or change the default association for the filetypes within MPC itself.
Cheers

thanks Mischcabob, but
yes, they are assciated through windows file folders and media player classic
is this not a plug-in issue - isn't there a way to stop this from IE anyone? This is the ONLY filetype that I have come across that insists on being played in a browser window - all other go to the default - winamp or media player classic.
is there mime registry setting I can change or something?
thanks
