mpg codec broken under Vista. HELP!

When I try to burn a recorded TV program from Windows Media Center under Vista, I get an error "Unsupported File Type".

I've run a utility called Sherlock - The Codec Detective (log file attached), and it tells me that the "Arcsoft Mpeg Encode Filter" has no associated driver.

Looking at the registry, there appears to be a link between the CLSID of this codec and the "Microsoft MPEG-2 Video Decoder", which I assume is the root of my problem?

I have not knowingly installed any Arcsoft software and assume the codec was loaded as part of another package I installed and may since have removed.

I'm trying to work out how to remove the invalid codec reference and/or re-instate whatever codec I actually need.

Can anyone please help?

Many thanks in advance.
