Python should be up there ... I vote for Python. In my opinion it's better than any of the above.

I am for delphi, because its very easy
It isn't as easy as it looks.
Yes, you can create GUIs using a few mouse clicks but you need more to make a working application. If you don't know programming... Delphi, VB and all similar products are unuseful

You have to wonder how many members have done some programming in these languages.
I don't count myself as true programmer...
Although I do some coding in DOS, HTML, javascript and CGI, I can't say I have a particular favorite.

I'd have to say C++, even though I don't know much about any others except a very little VB, and very little Python... so little that it's not funny...

Good point Mischcabob, I have programmed in C++, Basic, and Python. Python is my favorite out of those three that I have used. Oh, and I also tried some Java, which is very similar to C++, except for a few things.
I don't program too often, so I'm not that good, but I think it's the concept that counts not so much the language in which it is expressed

OOH! OOOH! How could i miss this topic???? Oh my!
Ok:
Personal favourite, C++ along with OpenGL API for portable 3d graphics.
Then, I'd like to embed Lua scripting language in there, for easy user-modification of the program.
Second Favourite: Java, i like it since it's really fun wasting time writing something in it, but i just hate the pure-oo interface. I like having an ability to add friend functions, and such (static methods still dont cut it). Also, i dont like the way java file structure goes along (too used to VC++ =) with headers and all). Its still fun getting frustrated over small things there. BTW, java's portability doesn't excite me at all.
Third favourite, is probably Visual Basic (VB). But i stopped liking it due to being windows-specific (since its mainly GUI driven).
Comment on Delphi C++: sry, in my opinon, the ugliest language ever put together. Its nothing like c++ (mabe a little).
<misc>: I also enjoy some assembler from time to time, particularly to optimize the application.
Well, i got so excited i definately missed something

EDIT: C++ RULES!!!
