Since it doesn't work in VLC, these are the only possible solutions:

1) Update DirectX
2) Re-install / update graphics driver

I also have the same problem when playing Silu encoded .ts files. I've tried the following players with no success:

mplayer 1.0rc1-3.4.2
mpc 3.8.9.0
VLC 0.8.6c

It seems like they are unable to identify the video stream. When looking into the details, all I see is audio streams. mplayer gives the following complaint:
"NO VIDEO! AUDIO A52(pid=4141) NO SUBS (yet)! PROGRAM N. 0
Cannot seek backward in linear streams!"

So, I installed PowerDVD 7.3 since it supports HD formats and the player could play it all flawlessly.

I suspect that the .ts file is not demuxed properly but I have not found a way to use other demuxers. When using MPC disabling the "MPEG PS/TS/PVA" Source filter the program crashes. And using HDTV pump -> prefer or Elecard demux et al -> prefer doesn't seem to actually override the demuxer. Not even in WM9 mode.

I also don't know how to experiment with different alternatives in VLC, the settings look like a mess and there's no apparent way to either add or remove alternative filters.

I fetched GSpot and tried to analyze it but is only says that DirectShow crashed while attempting to render this file (I'm using the latest Jun2007 dist of DirectX). It also identified the filter involved in the crash as: %AppDir\Cyberlink\PowerDVD\NavFilter\CLDemuxer.ax

I dunno what else to do sad.gif

I also tried using KLCP codec Tweaking Tool disabling the Cyberlink codec and now GSpot didn't crash DirectShow when analyzing. I got the following details about the streams:

(Src)-->>(A)-->[MPEG-2 Demultiplexer ]>--(cool.gif-->[Sonic Cinemaster® DS Video Decoder ]>--©-->[Video Renderer ]
A: MEDIASUBTYPE_MPEG2_TRANSPORT-->mpg2splt.ax
B: MEDIASUBTYPE_MPEG2_VIDEO-->CinemasterVideo.dll
C: MEDIASUBTYPE_YUY2-->quartz.dll

(Src)-->>(A)-->[MPEG-2 Demultiplexer ]>--(cool.gif-->[AC3 Filter ]>--©-->[Default DirectSound Device ]

A: MEDIASUBTYPE_MPEG2_TRANSPORT-->mpg2splt.ax
B: MEDIASUBTYPE_MPEG2_VIDEO-->ac3filter.ax
C: MEDIASUBTYPE_PCM-->quartz.dll

When trying to "Really See" if it works it didn't play. The file is demuxed properly and the sound goes to AC3. It seems like Sonic Cinemaster cannot render the video stream. So I chose to uninstall this codec: Its a part of the "Sonic Cineplayer DVD Pack".

After uninstall the video stream is no longer "identified".

I reinstalled the Elecard and HDTV Pump files but it seems like the system doesn't use them although they are enabled. Disabling the Cybelink codec didn't sit to well with the PowerDVD player so I re-enabled it and GSpot once again starts crashing DirectShow.

Im still helpless sad.gif sad.gif
