convert/resize videos to upload on youtube

Is there any freeware which can convert and split and resize videos (including .rm format) so i can upload to youtube? youtube only supports (avi, wmv, mov, and mp4 formats). My Windows Movie Maker doesnt work at all, and it can not convert .rm files either.
