Hi everyone, I'm new to this game of codecs and the like. I have got 4 computers in the house and have downloaded all the codec packs so I can play my movies on 3 of them using XP. Recently I bought the 4th computer (an Acer laptop with widescreen) with Vista pre-installed. I've downloaded the Vista Codecs Pack but I can't play my movies as a message comes up saying that Windows doesn't recognise the file.
Ive got some small movies from my still digital camera and put them on to the Vista computer but the only media player to play them is Media Player Classic. But my Vista computer will not play any DVD's.

Uninstall Vista Codec Pack and install K-Lite Codec Pack. That works great on Vista and it should allow you to play DVDs in Windows Media Player and Media Center.
