I swear my machine is getting too intelligent for its own good. Right now it is giving me the right royal runaround. I have threatened it with evacuation via the nearest window but it just laughed at me ... silently of course because its laugh was recorded in dolby digital stereo and I can't hear a damn thing. Shoot!
That's the problem really. My damned machine won't play anything with .ac3 in it. I have tried bribing it - I promised it a memory upgrade or a new sata drive but it just refused to cooperate. I upgraded its ac3 codecs/drivers to the latest versions but still it refuses to play them. I swear that I have read every thread in the world that mentions the three dirty little AC3 characters and yet I have no solution. It's getting me positively homicidal. I am outside now sharpening my sidecutters with a view to cutting the power to my PC.
Take pity on my poor machine and tell me what I can do to make the AC3 files that I have to work with squawk - OR - I swear - the next sound you hear will be the sound of a dying pc hitting the pavement at terminal velocity [in amplified wave format of course!
PS: this is actually no laughing matter - this inability to play any AC3 file is getting to me and so far I have not seen a single post that offers any real techniques for tracking down why this is occuring and how I can fix it.
