I been having this pesky problem for the past week now.
None of my movies or videos have color (greyscaled). I know this is a codec problem since I was viewing my movies correctly just A week ago but don't exactly know where it stems from or What codec is causing this problem. I've tried removing all my codecs from both the add/remove programs section and from the device manager, Then I would only install divx or VLC media player or K-lite/XP codec packs All on their own and would still Get this problem. Has Anyone here ever had this problem and know how to Fix it? Thanks in advanced.

You should not be installing all these all-in-one codec packs... onlyu causes conflicts. rolleyes.gif
Try determining your video card and updating display driver. Also update DirectX driver.

That didn't really help, All my drivers are updated. That including DirectX, Display adapter and what not.
This is a codec problem.

It is actually a graphics driver problem. Even the newest ones are sometimes very buggy.

There is an item about this in the K-Lite FAQ.

Thanks for helping guys, As it turns out. It was a minor video driver problem, Just had to re-install them and everything seems to be running smooth now.

If anyone encounters this same problem try Re-installing your video drivers first Then install the codecs you need, Worked for me.
