I downloaded and installed the Nimo 50 builder for codecs. Now .avi files will play the audio, but the video portion is stuck on the first frame. I uninstalled the Nimo package and restarted the system but still have the same problem. What happened? Better yet, how can I fix it? Thanks everyone.

I still have no idea what happened, but I did a system restore as I just happened to have a restore point set yesterday afternoon. The problem went away, but I have no idea what happened. The lesson is, always set a restore point before installing any sweeping software changes.
I would still love to know what went wrong.

Hi,
Codecpacks have filters, decompressors etc. and some players have also some.
Could be that one of these applications was an interference factor for your player.
I had that problem and disabled a decompressor in the player and the problem was solved.
