need help copying dvds..

Hello! so I finally got a dvd burner and I am having a hard time making copies of dvds. all dvds now seem to bee protected.. I tried anydvd and it worked great but I dont want to have to pay that much money for it!!! does anyone have any other suggestions???

You can find anydvd and many other programs ready to use for free on bittorrent, but the easiest thing is to download "DVD Decrypter", which is freeware and has no restrictions. Search around for it and you'll find it. Another free program you'll probably want also is "DVD Shrink", which will let you "compress" a double layer DVD into a single layer one. You'll need to do this, because most commercial DVDs are on double layer, and it's much cheaper to buy blank single layer disks -- about 25 cents compared to several dollars each. Also, your dvd burner may only work with single sided ones, even if you don't mind spending the extra money.

It'll take you a while to figure out how to use these programs, but that's the fun of it.

It's a great deal to easily make flawless backups of DVDs that were also not free

The difference is the ideology of driver loading. Some searching on your part will find the exchange between the two developers on a popular forum. I'd spend the time finding it for you but I'm of the mind that you wouldn't read it. It's out there if you look a bit.
