subtitleworkshop problem

I have a problem with subtitle workshop. When I`m trying to open a video a pop-up window appears saying the file cannot be rendered, probably due to a missing audio or video codec. Yet it does play but without the video. I worked with quite a few movies like this but it`s a little difficult. I`ve installed AVIcodec otherwise I have no idea what to do. The videos I was subtitling were downloaded from torrents. Please do help anybody!
Thanks in advance, tinulka.

If you installed K-Lite Codec or K-lite Mega Codec on your PC, Subtitle Workshop is incompatible with DirectVobSub v2.38. So, if you want to use Subtitle Workshop, you have to disable DirectVobSub in K-Lite Codec or K-Lite Mega Codec. Or better you uninstall K-Lite Codec or K-Lite Mega Codec, then reinstall it with selecting DirectVobSub v2.33 during installation.
