TalkingSoft.com Forums: I can't get Media Center to work after uinstalling Nero 8 trial....... - TalkingSoft.com Forums

I tried out the Nero 8 trial which was ok but I don't like showtime as much as Media Center. But when I tried using Media Center it was saying I needed to reinstall Nero so I did and I made sure it was not my prefer player for mp4, vob, bup, or ifo files yet the problem continued. So next I uninstalled Nero 8 and its still giving me a "Decoder Error". I've googled around and I think its a codec problem but I don't know how to fix it.....

Note: Windows Media Player was unaffected by any of this and works fine but for DVD and movie playback I prefer Media Center

HI, IM WARNING EVERYBODY ABOUT NERO, SORRY I DID NOT GET TO YOU IN TIME, NERO IS CAUSING MAJOR PROBLEMS, FIRST YOU INSTALL IT AND IT WORKS OK FOR AWHILE, THEN THE PROBLEMS START, SO THE NEXT THING THAT ANYONE WOULD DO IS UNINSTALL IT, WELL AS YOU KNOW NOW WHAT HAPPENS, IT TAKES OTHER STUFF WITH IT, AND CAN AFFECT EVERYTHING. I HAD THAT PROBLEM, SO I HAD TO INSTALL IT AGAIN, JUST SO MY COMPUTER WOULD WORK, IT DROVE ME MAD, SO IF YOU SEE OR HEAR ANYONE WANTS TO INSTALL IT, LET THEM KNOW, IF YOU STILL NEED A GOOD CONVERTER/BURNER LET ME KNOW, I CAN HELP. EVEN IF YOU LOOKING FOR MOVIES TO DOWNLOAD I CAN GET YOU GOOD QUALITY DVD FORMATS.

Just use Nero General clean tool from Nero website for cleanup.
Also, consider getting K-lite codecs which contains most of codecs you will ever need.
