mpeg2 in powerpoint

Hello from Belgium,

I want to play some videos mpeg2 into my Powerpoint presentation.

I installed the k-lite codec standart 3.8.5 (default value without player) and when i play a video in the presentation, i have a black screen. I tried with Powerpoint 2000 and 2003.

I have sought help on the web and i found a solution : intall "Elecard MPEG2 Decoder and Streaming PlugIn for WMP" but it isn't free.(http://www.elecard.c...decoder-plugin/)

My questions are :
- why it is working with Elecard and is not working with the splitter into k-lite codec ?
- I made a mistake when installing k-lite ?
- Do I activate an option?

Can you post some details about your MPEG2 files?

Hi,
Sorry for my late response.

I tried "[Cyberlink MPEG-2 decoder] Disable hardware acceleration" option in the Codec Tweak Tool. Nothing change. The mpg2 video play in ppt only if i intall Elecard.

If i install the k-lite, gspot => status : codec are installed, mp2 play in wmp but not in ppt
If i install the elecard, gspot => status : codec are NOT installed BUT it work fine in wmp AND in ppt
