I wonder if anyone can help. I have just had to reformat my laptop, and have it up an running again. The only problem I have is when I try to burn AVI files to DVD. I use Nero 7 (and have tried 8 - but with same problem), the program will convert the files ok, ut when it comes to burning onto the DVD it will not burn and gives an error message, creating an error file, I have no idea how to read.
Can any one advise on this problem.
Thanks

Well could have posted error message.
Most times it boils down to bad media type, incompatibility or non-standard compliant format etc.
Have to use good good encoder to convert to MPEG2 or DVD format structure. Can't really help you till you provide more info.

I hope I am in the right place
I downloaded a video that is AVI and used WinAvi to convert it to disk so I can play it on my home system. My system is older [ Panasonic DVD recorder DMR-ES40V ]. I used a DVD-R that my manual said should work. Then I burned a disk to mpeg-1 and it wouldnt play. After reading I get message wont play check disk. I tried mpeg-2 and get same message on all my non computer players. I am only a wanna be nerd and new to all this.
Please help Crackers
If it was a Harley I could of fixed it no problem
