Slow playback on 1080 x264

Lo ther
I'm new to the forum but have been browsing and searching for answers throughout the web.
Im running XP on a AMD 64 X2 4200+ and downloaded CoreAVC, Ffdshow, Haali Splitter and tried playing on BSplayer, Nero Showtime, WMP Classic and WMP11. 720 movies play without any problems and I'm certain that I have been able to play 1080 movies just as easy. My CPU usage seems to reach over 88% on BSplayer and WMPClassic so a wise one would say it's underpowered, wich is strange because I have been able to play similar movies without problems.

I'm thinking it's because of a NET Framework error I get on Windows startup, something about an "Unhandled Exception" and I've tried to get a Netfix installer to repair my Net Framework installatino without success (error kept reappearing).

Anyone able to assist?

Thanks in advance

Net Framework error fixed.. still very choppy, unwatchable playback of 1080 mkv files. High CPU usage and I have done all the hotfixes and regkey changes to get XP to use the X2 core as it should.
Even with a 512MB 8800GT Asus card I'm not getting a watchable playback.
To be added to the list of tested players: Nero ShowTime, The Core Media Player

Are you sure that CoreAVC is getting used and not ffdshow?

I've checked and I completely disabled FFDshow. Now it seems Haali is picking it up and when using WMP Classic I get an error, something about reading memory.

There was a period where I managed to turn Nvidia codec into the main and prefered codec and playback of ANY HD/HQ type was stutterless and smooth but it seems those days are over.
Right now I don't seem to get the nvidia decoder back to pick it up and I haven't got a clue where to get it or how to get it to work.
