Hi people, I have been using my disk for quite a long time but the other day I heard the drive making some noise and had to restart the system again. But when I did that the disk would not boot and I fear that the data might be deleted or lost. So, if you people have any know about the ways to get this done right or if you can at least suggest me the ways to handle this …it will be a great help.

The best suggestion I have is to crack the case open, re-seat the drive (to make sure that it doesn't have loose screws or is off-balance), make sure your cables are plugged in properly, and if you have spare cables, try using one of those.

I know that's not much help, but sometimes it does work! And if you can get your HD working again? For the love of pete, back up your data ASAP. wink.gif Have a stack of CD-R's handy and immediately copy whatever you can.

In the old days, I just used to whack my 386 SX16 with a broom handle. ...till I figured out it was a loose cable. *cough*
