Hello!
I am currently using a system with:
ATI Radeon 9800 PRO (Current Drivers) and the current version of the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack on a Windows XP system
After I updated drivers and installed the current version of the K-Lite Codec Pack, I will encounter a 'Blue Screen Error' with an error code of 0x0000008E.
The above only happens when I seek while playing a WMV.
I can seek other media files, such as MP3s/MPGs, but as soon as I seek with a WMV, the system gets the error message noted.
I have a plain configuration (Near Default Configuration) - Has anyone heard of this?
Are there any options I should disable?
I have not tried other media players unfortunately, but any suggestions would be great.

Playback of WMV files is done with codecs from Microsoft. You should disable DXVA in the control panel of your graphics card.
Google "ati dxva wmv" for more info.

I went into the registry and purged several entries and toggled a few registry entries to '0'
Success.
