Hello,

I've had this little "problem" for a while now and I haven't been able to fix it, so I thought I would ask here.

As the topic says, the problem is that I can't get .sub files to work correctly together with MPC or FFDShow. I used to use FFDShow's subtitle filter but since I found out that MPC render subtitles better I've switched over. However, I can't get .sub files to work at all, no matter if use MPC's filter or FFDShow's filter. I've looked through the options several times but I can't find anything that would imply that .sub shouldn't work.

If I use .srt everything works like a charm.

I'm using the FFDShow codec for video and AC3Filter for audio.

No one even has the slightest idea what might be causing this problem? I would really appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction. blush.gif

Try using DirectVOBSub (bundled with K-lite). Works well with MPC. thumbsup.gif

The internal one of MPC should also work fine. There are two types of .sub subtitle files. Regular text based like .srt, or binary based. In that case there should also be an .idx file. In all cases the files should be named the same as your movie file. Otherwise the subs are not loaded automatically.

Hehe, my own fault all the time. I've missed the .idx files somehow, it works just as it should do now. Thanks for pointing it out!
