I couldn't find any similar topic. So I open this thread...
I have just installed the newest version of the xp-codec-pack (2.4.6).
Already had on my system: real alternative, quick alternative and the complete DivX-software
Do I still need the last three, when the xp-codec-pack is installed? Is it because of the plugins?

If you are able to play your files, why do you worry? You need the real & quicktime alternatives only if you want to play real & quicktime files, of course

Yep, just do custom install and install ONLY what you need.
