As described in the topic title and description:
The codec pack K-lite standard version 4.7.0 destroys - during install - the Acronis True Image 2009 icon (but Acronis seems to work without further problems) and there's no way to restore the icon. Any ideas and help is welcome?
For now I stick with the previous beta.

Should stay away from Beta versions, unless don't mind troubleshooting.
Did you revert back to last final stable version?
Well icons do get corrupted at times. Windows caches the icons for all of the items on your desktop. That way it doesn't have to look inside each file every time you boot, but the icon cache can become corrupted. Normally launching the program will refresh the icon, usually packed within the executable. Could use Powertoy or TweakUI to fix, but don't think it's a serious issue.

The very first version of K-lite on this laptop (Samsung R610) was the latest beta, so unfortunally I am not able to revert back to the last stable version.
And I agree, it's not a "serious" issue, but to be honest, I don't like to face these unwanted changes.
I will now try to find a stable (not a beta) version that will leave the icon cache untouched.

This is not caused by the codec pack. It is a bug in Windows. In rare cases the icon cache gets corrupted. That can happen after installing new software, or anything else that adds new icons. The solution is to clear the Windows icon cache. Then correct icons should be shown again.
