I have able to select overlay before with my onboard graphics at resolution of 1024 x 768. Recently I acquired nVidia FX 5200 to achieve a resolution of 1680 x 1050 and all of a sudden, I can't select overlay mode in ffdshow.
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks

I have the same problem, it was working in the previous release of klite mega codec pack 4.75, but after uninstalling the 4.75 and installing the 4.80 version it didnt.
heres a pic of the screen i'm refering to. i've even tried downloading the newest graphics drivers and testing it with both versions currently using nvidia drivers 181.22 on a geforce fx6600 and the newest 182.50 drivers, neither of them have worked. Believe its something simple like a registry entry. And yes the quote "Works only when "Set pixel aspect ratio in output media type" on Output page is selected and when hardware supports it." is turned on.

after a long battle i found out the problem NVIDIA DRIVERS. just installed the latest 196.21 drivers, with the newest Klite mega codec pack 5.8.0 todayand no overlay control again,
which was working with the older nvidia drivers i had reverted to using the 5.7.0 pack. Seems to have failed on every update since that earlier driver.
