Nero 9.2.5.0 - Can't burn anymore (error message enclosed)

Hi all.

I've always burn my DVDs (movie and data) with no problems. Even with crappy branded DVDRs I get no error.

The writer is an internal one in my ACER laptop. Max speed is only 8x.

Recently I can't burn any DVDs. For DVD movies, I've always used their DVD-Video template.

I can't see any DMA / PIO related settings under my "Device Manager".

I do want to burn Data DVDs too e.g. MP3 / video collection.

Currently I can play DVD movies & Data DVDs (those I previously burnt when all was OK) perfectly.

I even tried enabling "Simulation" in Nero with and without the Burning but in both cases Simulation just failed. I get a "Invalid Block Address" message in the status window.

I noticed that when trying to burn in Nero, the Burn tab got "Verify written data" disabled so I can't tick it.

I tried Nero DriveSpeed but I get a "No CD-ROM found" message.

I bought this laptop around Dec 2008. I can't take my laptop back to the shop I bought it for repair/check up because it's in a different town & far from me.

IS there a way I can check if my writer/the laser thingy in it is physically ok? Maybe with another software.
Device Mgr says "This device is working properly". I want another opinion.

See my 2 enclosed Notepad files for the logs.

So what's suddenly screwing with my DVD burning now?

Well there is Nero info tool but helps if you have DVD/CD inserted. Could try burning within Windows or reinstalling software.
