Hey all,
I only just found this forum, not sure where to post anything so forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong place. I had to reformat my computer today, and I have to update my sound drivers. I have Windows XP Home edition as my operating system and have been literally searching all day for a solution to my problem. I downloaded XP Codec Pack 2.4.8 and installed it, but still no sound. If I go into my Control Panel and then into the Audio Options, nothing is selectable because it says I have "No Audio Device". Please help, this is driving me up the wall. x

You don't mention who makes your computer. I have a Dell and I go to their web site to get the audio driver. The codec is not the audio driver it is for your audio player (Windows Media Player for example).

Need to determine if you a sound card or integrated onboard sound i.e.Realtek AC' 97. Look under System..device Manager.
Use MObo/chipset manufacturer Cd or find the driver online. Yellow Exclamation indicate unknown or unconfigured device.
Normally WInXp will find/install driver automatically, but can try Windows update (optional)
