IE8 distorts certain sites

Good morning!

I've IE8 and like IE7, I find several sites where words / sentences overlap. Opera and Firefox display these sites with no problem. One of these sites is Bostonherald.com

I'll give you a picture of what one of these sites appears as.

I use Vista Home Premium on a Toshiba P200 laptop. I've uninstalled IE8 and find IE7 distorts the same sites in the same fashion.

When I reinstall IE8, of course, the problem remains. I've tried the View Compatibility and that doesn't work. Of course, I've deleted temporary files / cache and that does not work either.

Any clues as to what causes this will be appreciated.

Please type slowly in all responses in order to read and understand what is being said. Thanks!

Different browsers render website differently. IE has been notorious in rendering pages, apparently it sticks more to its own standards than common web standards. Opera and firefox have more been standards compliant. I suggest you take the help of an experienced web designer..Designers know IE glitches / bugs and will correct/tweak HTML code in the site to make it more IE friendly.

TechSniper, thanks for the speedy reply. That question was thrown out a year ago and I have long since overcame that particular problem. How I did I actually couldn't answer now but it's been solved.

I had asked whoever would respond to type slowly but not this slowly. If others are working on a reply to my questionnaire, please stop where you are and call it quits!!! It's OK now!!!

Thank you again techsniper for being the first to at least give a response! All the best!!!

You're welcome!!! I overlooked the date...sorry...have a habit of keeping an eye on the problems and then everything else gets secondary.

Well, at least you replied to the problem. The fact you overlooked the problem means you're human. All the best Techsniper!
