Decompression 48000 Hz 16 Bits mp3 to wav

I tried to find the answer to this in existing threads, without success.

I am trying to decompress what my wave editor identifies as following:

MPEG 1 layer 3 48000 Hz 16 Bits

Neither it nor Exact Audio Copy can do this, even though Creative Wave Studio can compress waves to such mp3s.

When I have a file identified as:

MPEG 1 layer 3 44100 Hz 0 Bits

decompression is without problems.

Can anyone tell me how to solve this?
