Hi smile.gif ,

I am not a very technical person, I have followed the instruction on installing AC3 filter for DivX Player 7 for the sound for watching avi files, however, after the installation, there is still no sound at all, how do I solve this problem? Although the files will play sound on Windows Media Player now, however, the picture quality is not that great in compare to DivX. Please help me, thank you very much. biggrin.gif

I don't think DIVX has AC3 support out of the box. Tried enabling it using a 3rd party AC3 filter?

Try removing Divx7 and other filters. Then install K-Lite codec pack. Then configure ffdshow to enable the divx, ac3, avc. Both audio and video will need to be configured. You will then be able to hear the ac3 or a52 using your speakers. during the setup, you will be taken thru a pre-configuration in which you will be able to add or remove codecs. Most can be left alone.
Add or change speaker configuration to you liking.
Another player that may suit your needs is VLC media player

That's exactly what I did, but still not working, got so frustrated with it, I deleted the movie without watching it! Thanks anyway!

Got so frustrated with everything, I just deleted the movie without watching it! But the funny thing is, it does not affect other movies except the one I deleted. Why is that?
