all audio gets silent

hi, newbie @ the forum and with codecs and stuff...

i've downloaded a couple of movies and since a while all audio gets very silent (mostly the "talking") ...
I think it happend when i updated IE...
Could it be that i need to download something to get this audio back to 'normal'? I checked every button on my desktop and all audio is 100% so it couldn't be that...

Anyone who knows if there is anything on this website that could help me change this?
