Hi,

today I bought a new webcam (Logitech c905). The preview is nice, but viewing the results with several Players produces a green and flipped vid (as attached)

Does anybody have a hint or solution for me?

Kind regards!

Further Information:
I've tried several player like mplayer, mplayerc, kmplayer, vlc and (hopefully full) deinstall all codecs with reinstall them step by step afterwards (ffdshow, klite, tmpenc).
G-Spot determined WMV2/ WMP v8 for the vid (sound is ok)

I've a Samsung NC10 Netbook with an well patched german MS XP Home.

Hi videonoob,

What is the file extension of the Video your webcam "(Logitech c905)" produces ?

I have a Logitech QuickCam which produces .wmv files.

I use K-Lite Codec package, after I've cleaned all codecs off my system, and generally use Media Player Classic (Home Cinema) for all Video playback .

Of late I've had problems with MP4's, and their derivatives, which VLC seems to handle no worries.

The pic does look hideous, I agree.

Search the Forum, see if any info for the Webcam, WMV2/ WMP v8, etc.

When having problems like this often is best to get all players uninstalled, and Codecs, and start out from scratch with a K-Lite pack, use the Codec Tweak Tool to fix any broken stuff installed, etc.

Apart from all that did you install the Webcam Software properly, with the Software it came with ?
Is there an update for said software.

If even VLC gives a bad picture, then it is possible the recorded video files are broken.

See if there is a software update for the webcam.
