hey get this, I downloaded and installed g-spot and before I got a chance to use it, My Documents disappeared.....
I fully serious hey, it just disappeared, straight after installing it, NOT deleted, just gone.... and its like 10GIG in size
My Documents is gone....havnt backed up in ages, has anyone heard of this happening?
Why is that only My Documents disappeared but no other folders on my computer did?
Sorry I know this isnt about codecs etc but just thought I'd ask if any of you guyz had any ideas?? Thanks heaps
Uhhh ...ok in order
1) make sure it is not hidden .... try this path: (replace H_TeXMeX_H with your user name)
C:\Documents and Settings\H_TeXMeX_H\My Documents
Just go to My Computer and click on the main partition (usually C:\) then click Documents and Settings, then your user name (mine is H_TeXMeX_H, of course

), then click My Documents ... if you do NOT see My Documents click:
Tools -> Folder Options -> View -> Hidden files and folders -> Show hidden files and folders
click ok, then try again ... if you still dont see it try ...
2) uninstalling the last program installed and if that does not work ...
3) run Panda freescan anti-virus here:
http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/ if it does not find anything then you can ...
4) also try this file recovery program that might work:
http://www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/uk/welcome.htm if not then ...
5) restore the system to an earlier date, to do this goto Start -> Run and type C:\WINDOWS\system32\Restore\rstrui.exe click OK and follow the wizard .... I hope that helps.
Note: I never store important documents in My Documents because so many hackers, viruses, ad-ware know that everyone stores things there ... just make a new folder on another partition called My Documents 2 or something and store things there. (Changed the order several times, not sure which is best order

just try them all

)
