Hi, does anyone know if there is any software out there that encrypts your whole hard drive(s)? I mean so that they cant be accessed not even by putting them in a different machine, and it asks for a password before windows starts. huh.gif

If you can encrypt it, then someone else can decrypt it. They just beat you with a rubber hose till you give them your password huh.gif

Yes, but say if my hard drive was stolen, and someone wanted the files off it how could I stop that? NTFS filesystem has some power but it'll still be accessable under dos, or win NT or XP.

Here is a pre-boot hard-drive access control and encryption program that does just that ... if you can ever get it to work. Many people say it works great, unfortunately I cannot get it to work, maybe you will have better luck smile.gif

Here is another possibility to create virtual encrypted disks, a program that I use:

Try DCPP. Works good imho. I think no other whole disk encryption software uses remote disk encryption! It's really convenient for such companies as i work for. check out their website SecurStar or check out the product info
