My Quicktime player used to work fine but all of a sudden I just get a white video while the audio works just fine. I want to be able to view the trailers on the apple website. I think this may be a codec problem but I have no idea what codec I should download for this problem. Frankly, I'm not even sure what a codec is. Can anyone offer a solution?

The official QuickTime Player? Well, you may uninstall and reinstall it.

Likely a DirectDraw problem. Do you have latest video card drivers and DirectX 9C?
If that or re-install doesn't work, go to Quicktime Video Settings, select "Safe Mode (GDI Only)". This will automatically disable DirectDraw and DirectDraw Acceleration for you.
