While trying to find instant messenger reviews, I came across msn messenger, which allows you to make calls from your pc to any telephone in the world via Net2Phone. I also heard they started charging for this service.

This got me on a side track of trying to find a freeware program that lets you make phone calls from your PC. So far, no luck. They all charge.

Anyone have better luck than I?

I tried a free program years ago, but it didn't work, people on the receiving end couldn't hear me speaking, very poor quality. This may also have been due to my crappy dial-up connection I had at the time.

Maybe you should try Skype - free Internet telephony that just works
