Hi.

I want to create a large, long windows media 9 file - 30 mins 100-300 megs, and be able to watch the whole thing through OR select chapters.

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to create such a chapterised file in wm9 please, and if so give me a pointer as to how?

Thanks very much

Hi!

The question is: from what source?
From another video format? Or cam, captures?
Try WinAVI Video Converter or WinAVI Video Capture, can create WMVs easily from various sources.

Hi, thanks for your response

I'm using FCPro on a Mac, so I'm creating quicktime movies.

I can transfer them to a PC, import them into Sony Vegas, and create wmvs using the Windows media encoder software; but what I'm not having any joy with so far is inserting chapter points, so the viewer can skip on chapters, select individual ones, or watch the whole thing - all within the 1 big file.

Any suggestions very gratefully received

Regards

Mike

OK, i see. I don't do such things in WMVs (chapterising, re-authoring), but if you have the Windows Media Encoder 9series, the Windows Media File Editor allows you to add chapter points maybe.
Or you may just split the WMV or create multiple files while encoding.
