HI everyone, I have a problem viewing some videos I downloaded. I downloaded some racing videos a few months ago, and I always get an error now when I try running them through wmp. When I drag the file into G-Spot, it says it is .Mov/QT and it only runs through quicktime. Any ideas what codec I may need to be able to run it through wmp? it used to work fine, but stopped recently. Any ideas?

Thanks

Don't know how you were able to play MOV files with WMP before since it's a quicktime format.

However, QuickTime Alternative will allow you to play QuickTime files (.mov, .qt and other extensions) without having to install the official QuickTime Player, but you need a supported player like Media player Classic.

Agree but to tell the truth, when I first installed QT Alternative on my XP machine I was really surprised 'cause WMP10 did play the MOV files (and the REAL formats with Real Alternative) without problems. Just right clicked on the MOV and chose "play with wmp" and worked. But it's true there were other cases on other machines this didn't happen at all.
Well, now I don't really care since I don't use WMP for anything rolleyes.gif but it's a fact it works sometimes (i think it depends on the WMP10 build no. as well).

If you have (had) QuickTime Alternative, you could try to uninstall it and reinstall the latest version, maybe WMP10 will play your MOVs.
